Heron is a symbol of patience and perseverance. Just think of the ability to remain motionless for long periods of time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. This teaches us the value of trusting the natural flow of life and embracing the journey, not just the destination. The white heron reminds us above all of the purity of nature.

A pasture full of dots of color. That is a sight that almost has to make you happy. And wouldn't you secretly want to pick a small field bouquet? But make sure you leave enough for the bees!

Does it also make you happy to see a butterfly? It symbolizes spring, color and lightness, among other things. You know what makes it even a better gift? Floating in the pool and then feeling such a beautiful butterfly land on you. A momentary break from his flight to the butterfly and a moment of total connection for me.

Robins are especially beautiful in the snow, don't you think?
It probably has something to do with their orange belly that contrasts so nicely with the white. That's why I had to portray this beauty.
Surprisingly cold spring weather in April suddenly wasn't so bad anymore. :-)

A nightingale is known for it's beautiful song,
hearing this bird sing is a joy.
To me a birds song is among the simple yet special free gifts of life.
But it's only when I'm focused in the now that I can enjoy this 'present'
When I'm occupied with thoughts or worries I simply can't notice this daily beauty.
So it's a great reminder to not let the Today get stolen by the unchangeable past or the indefinite future. Every Today is a new day!

“Do not set aside your happiness. Do not wait to be happy in the future. The best time to be happy is always now.”

The most lovable sign of spring is seeing butterflies again. They need sunny weather. When the sun shines, they can absorb solar heat with their wings, to warm up and fly.

Butterflies are light and frivolous the way they flutter from flower to flower. It's a joyous sight. They simply enjoy life so it seems. Makes me smile always.

To enter spring I've painted a butterfly for you today. It's one from South-America and usually when they rest they will sit upside down in a high tree. I like their graphic pattern a lot. The male can make a cracking noise, although nobody knows what it's used for. That's how they got their name.

Hope we get to enjoy lots of sun this week,
With Love Lies

As I told you with no. 1068 last saturday, there is a special day coming up. Tuesday November 29, we are entering a new moon, and it is going to help, to reveal our hearts desire. If you are not quite sure what it is you desire, it could be that you have not yet allowed the unicorn of no. 1068 to assist you.

If that still does not help I have got a tip for you.
Tonight, before you go to sleep, you clearly express the desire to find your soul wish.
To find the thing you came here for. And you ask to see and experience it in your dream.
Because maybe you already know what it is, but you do not know how it will feel.
And say thanks already in advance that you are going to get it into the light.
Gratitude is a strong energy.

Good Luck!

The miniature of today is a small clue to the miniature of tomorrow.
And as you know, you could win the miniature of tomorrow, if you participate and are a subscriber... (HERE)
More on that tomorrow. I’m so curious what your wishes are

Ps This might look like a game, and playfulness is key.
But at the same time it’s energy work and it’s best to be taken serious...

My head is playing tricks with me,
I worry about something that might happen in the future,
by someone I don’t trust.

Walking outside by the water, in the early falling evening, hello moon, boats gently rock the sidewalls, a big tree hangs over to mirror his own view, across the water, lights go on, people come home. Nearby I see the greylike yellow of leaves and unknown plants

It’s all there, for me to enjoy,

and I realize...
There is great freedom in simplicity of living.
If I can just trust that I am exactly where I need to be.
Keep doing the things I love, sharing my colours.

Don’t you think that simple living and simple thinking,
is the key to an inspirational life?

I guess simple things become complicated
when we expect to much,
good or bad…

Three vases on a painted treasure chest. If you are equipped with enough imagination you could have spotted this in the corner of the first painting in this series.
The light enters the room in a gentle way, the colors are evident, what more do you need to experience a sense of beauty.

Make it a nice
effortless day today.

As you might see I took the fussy pale pink carnation home with me. Together with some favorite other flowers I painted an impressionistic composition. It’s not about reality it’s making my own reality.
Something I can highly recommend especially if you add lot’s of colour.

Create your own reality,
and make sure it is one
that you like.

Carnations, personally I’m not that fond of them. I find it a bit of a fussy type flower. But amazingly enough I loved this combination seen at Antoesa Flowers in Amsterdam.
This strangely kind of pale pink carnation, put in a semi-transparent pale pink French vase. This is in a way double out-dated and therefore rather fresh again.
So you see, the best combinations are the ones that make three out of two

something to look for in today
it takes teamwork to tango

I love nature, it brings me my greatest inspiration. Although, I am pretty ignorant on knowledge about her. Hardly know any species by name, do not own a garden, and I often find weed equally beautiful as the cultivated species.
But I do like to be informed on features by an expert. Or learn new things. Whether names and numbers stay with me is a whole different story.

For example I have no clue on how these large spherical trees, I painted here in the middle, are called. It is a majestic long row of trees which stand with full pride till the distant horizon. It’s a delight in itself that there are still places in the Netherlands where you can see far without meeting people, buildings or lampposts.

The lovable residents with this beautiful view do have a lot of knowledge on nature, and they pointed me to the existence of the feeding line. If animals eat leaves from the trees, they can only reach a certain distance with their mouths. Below it is bald, and above the tree remains full. seen from a distance its ’s a neat straight line.
Now that I know this, I see the line everywhere, and I always depict those animals with their necks fully stretched maybe you notice it too, when the trees are full leaf again.

And remember, don't be afraid to have little knowledge,
the things you are interested in will find you.

Or think of Albert Einstein, who said:
"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination."

What if you had a garden with fresh figs hanging on the tree? I don't have a garden and there is a fig-tree in the green near my studio but it does not wear eatable figs.
But these figs are from a lucky lady who has it all, and I was lucky to visit her and paint the figs before I ate them:-)

Look at you, parrot tulips in various colours. The way you are still standing strong. Some of you already lost your petals and most of you are on the verge of being totally overblown. But to me you look stunningly beautiful.

Sometimes you can combine the good with the good. 'Dog-sitting' in France and painting the view when you are taking her for a walk. It was dog/goat/sheep/rabbit/chicken and guinea-pig-sitting to be honest and I loved it. Life can feel so nice and simple on the countryside. But living in Amsterdam is also great and driving back home I saw some pretty views too. Like to share this one with you.
