Outside my atelier I walked upon this little feathered creature. I was a bit surprised because there was no movement what soever. At first I thought it maybe was a stuffed specimen. Especially when I could approach so close and there was still no motion to see.
But no. He or she was for real. A young blackbird. Maybe she did not learn to be afraid of people yet. Mother Blackbird on the other hand was very anxious hipping at the top of the fence.
I am curious when the fear in the young bird will kick in.
What I like about this hostaplant are those gigantic, heart-shaped, blue-green leaves. They are of heavy substance, as if they are sculptured and water stays on it like little pearls. And how can you not be beautiful with such a name...
Boety is the most loyal friend of Corneel, I guess you can see that in his portret also. Because Boety is a new friend after a hugely missed other dogfriend by Corneel she decided to receive a letter by him through Ineke van Lier. Ineke has the amazing gift to tune in to an animal (even if he is no longer in our world) and catch his or her words. Every animal has his own message and tone of voice. To make this energy visible I painted Boety's portret for Corneel. Now Corneel feels Boety's friendship even more close.
How fortunate that we can use our talents for both the animal and humans in this way!
Okkie is a very special doggie who lived with his brother Basje with Anna in the Netherlands. He and Basje, whom you will meet tomorrow, look like little Teddy-doggies, so sweet. But they also had a lot of useful information to share. They wrote a letter to Anna thanks to dogwhisperer Ineke van Lier.
In Amsterdam we still vote by coloring a red box with a 'vintage' red pencil. Personally I like this. That's why I gave this painting it's name. But maybe it's a better idea to see this painted red pencil as a symbol to put a cross through everything we don't like or don't need in our lives. By any means, every moment of every day you can choose to make a fresh new start. Have fun today with figuring out what stays with you and what goes.

Yes!, the first daily-happy-mini-mail-project by lies goemans is completed. The second too:-)For two years in a row i've been painting a miniature 5x5 cm (2"x 2"inch) daily on this spot. It has been a tribute to lisette goemans and all other people battling a difficult struggle. The first year was not for sale and is now one big artwork of 365 miniature wonderments in paint.
and now?
i started a third new serie of 365 happy-mini-mail, again 5x5 cm (2x2" inch) and you can againbuy the paintings a day, first come first served!
