Ever since I can remember I like a series more than one.

Not because I am so greedy haha but simply because in a series you suddenly look at each item separately to find, for example, the differences or similarities. You suddenly see more and you are looking forward to more treasures that you can find that make the series bigger.

For me, a series already starts with 3, but even better with 5. And as soon as a new one arrives in the series, all existing ones change with it. Do you now see that a series is really fun?

This miniature is for my neighbor Rob who has his birthday today and has a whole collection of the dome church on the Singel in Amsterdam.

There is a flower shop on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam where they know exactly how to elevate flowers into art. It is always a feast for the eye to watch what's in their window. Sometimes it's a full bouquet or just one branch in a beautiful vase. I regularly take a detour just to take a look at their latest creation.

One thing I like about painting is that you can change reality just the way you like it. You can get rid of the unnecessary. How I wish it would be that simple in daily life. 

This is an impression of a place in Amsterdam where I often play with my dog. It is a sort of mini-island. I tried to minimize it without losing the suggestion. Do you think it worked? Or do you sometimes feel you would like to strip the superfluous?

This is Sjuultje, Milly's Terrier. She is waiting at the AH supermarket straight and strong with her hair fluttering in the wind. She stands there undaunted because she is sure that her Milly will be back soon to come and pick her up. Isn't that beautiful such a couple.

I was walking my dog in the neighbourhood of Artis the Amsterdam zoo where my studio is. From the dark part of the street i had a look at the sunny side of the street with the zoo in the back across the water. In this scene entered a woman with an amazingly red coat because of the reflection of the sun. She gave me a big smile and said what a beautiful day isn't it, i agreed whole-heartedly and knew i had my happy-mini-moment for the day.

This must be THE beauty of the Hoogtekadijk in Amsterdam. Some cars are personalityies and this is certainly one of them. Her sassy red door and jolly yellow body puts a smile on my face everytime I see her.
