Dutch Winter.

Despite the fact we have a rather small country, we manage to divide it in ordinary winter weather on one side, and a snowy wonderland on the other.

Around the same time last year we were able to wallow in the genuine 'winterfeeling'. I mean; sticky white snow, low temperatures and even some ice on the canals. I'm actually quite ready for it again. Are you?

At the elephantbridge near Artiszoo it's a true spectacle on the half-frozen water. This gull wins the show with a sophisticated landing on a floating ice floe.

If you look out of your car-window, even on a dull dutch highway, in white wintertime. You will be amazed how different the landscape colors seem. The greens are grayer, the grays are more blue, and the browns look more like ocher. The whole scene is softer and gentle to the eyes. I like it!
