"Cherish the beauty that forms in your mind, for out of this will grow your reality." 

That makes the biggest part of my reason to paint what I love. I simply see the world in lot's of colours. And sometimes, while painting I feel like sitting on a throne, with a crystal ball, wearing pink glasses, picking up what floats around and transforming it into a new world on canvas. Haha

It makes me peaceful and it makes me happy and because I hope that feeling is contagious, I like to share this with you.

Sharing is multiplying and that's why I'm grateful for everyone who shared his or her wishes. Because I believe the more people live their wish and feel fulfilled the better the world gets.

Chico sits on the floor and looks up at me, he is trying to figure out, will she offer me a treat? Attentive ears, intense concentration... Oh no, disappointment, she is only taking a picture...

He looks at his own lady Erika, whom he trusts totally. Ah seems she is having fun. When she is feeling fine, he is feeling great too. Where ever she goes, he will follow. Loyal for always. A real friend.

You will be missed Chico, but true friends stay forever! Maybe not in real life, but surely in the heart.

Maybe you noticed that last November 14 was a very special full moon? On that day we did a ceremony to let go of what we no longer wanted or needed in our lives.I had painted a symbolic miniature and those who participated could win it.

It was so good to hear from you, how it felt afterwards when things were released.

Now upcoming November 29 is again a very special day, a new moon.

This new moon stands in the sign of passion and heart desires. What is really important to you? What desire or dream you cherish for so long now, that finally wants to meet the light? Think about it before it’s the 29th. And also think of which steps could bring you closer?

My head is playing tricks with me,

I worry about something that might happen in the future,

by someone I don’t trust.

Walking outside by the water, in the early falling evening, hello moon, boats gently rock the sidewalls, a big tree hangs over to mirror his own view, across the water, lights go on, people come home. Nearby I see the greylike yellow of leaves and unknown plants

It’s all there, for me to enjoy,

and I realize...

There is great freedom in simplicity of living.

If I can just trust that I am exactly where I need to be.

Keep doing the things I love, sharing my colours.

Don’t you think that simple living and simple thinking, 

is the key to an inspirational life?

I guess simple things become complicated 

when we expect to much, 

good or bad…

One of the things I love about being a painter is that I can be like a god in my own universe. I feel completely free to create a place where I want to be. 

If I’m outside, painting en plein air, then I catch my sense of that place in paint and color. 

Anything that does not appeal to me, I leave out or simply place it somewhere else. And also when I paint in my atelier by memory or with help of pictures, I can make it as beautiful and special as I want it to be remembered. 

And for instance on a day like today, when the rain pours down on us. I can simply take a walk on this beach with a sun setting as long as I like. I love that feeling. And I also love to share the things that make me happy.

So please, feel free

As you might see I took the fussy pale pink carnation home with me. Together with some favorite other flowers I painted an impressionistic composition. It’s not about reality it’s making my own reality.

Something I can highly recommend especially if you add lot’s of colour.

Carnations, personally I’m not that fond of them. I find it a bit of a fussy type flower. But amazingly enough I loved this combination seen at Antoesa Flowers in Amsterdam.

This strangely kind of pale pink carnation, put in a semi-transparent pale pink French vase. This is in a way double out-dated and therefore rather fresh again.

So you see, the best combinations are the ones that make three out of two

I love nature, it brings me my greatest inspiration. Although, I am pretty ignorant on knowledge about her. Hardly know any species by name, do not own a garden, and I often find weed equally beautiful as the cultivated species.

But I do like to be informed on features by an expert. Or learn new things. Whether names and numbers stay with me is a whole different story.

For example I have no clue on how these large spherical trees, I painted here in the middle, are called. It is a majestic long row of trees which stand with full pride till the distant horizon. It’s a delight in itself that there are still places in the Netherlands where you can see far without meeting people, buildings or lampposts.

The lovable residents with this beautiful view do have a lot of knowledge on nature, and they pointed me to the existence of the feeding line. If animals eat leaves from the trees, they can only reach a certain distance with their mouths. Below it is bald, and above the tree remains full. seen from a distance its ’s a neat straight line.

Now that I know this, I see the line everywhere, and I always depict those animals with their necks fully stretched maybe you notice it too, when the trees are full leaf again.

And remember, don't be afraid to have little knowledge, 

the things you are interested in will find you.

Or think of Albert Einstein, who said:

You confirm your wish if you pronounce it consciously and loudly, throw it out in the open. Acting on it together increases the impact.

Even if you did not respond publicly, I hope you allowed yourself to give something to the moon, anything that makes your life harder than necessary...

Lovely, now we created new space, for new dreams and moments to cherish. A new way of looking at your world. Figuratively but also literally. I am amazed again and again by the beauty of our own little country.

For example, did you know that we used to have tobacco plantations in the Netherlands? Here's a part from the area where it previously was full of tobacco, it is still a beautiful piece of nature.

perfect day for a gift - november 14 - 2016

Today she is here, the super moon. full and round and big! Well the moon does not change size of course but the way we perceive her, does. Today she is relatively closer to Earth. The last time was in 1948 and it takes up to 2034 to see her this big again.
The moon symbolizes the unconscious and fullmoons-day is a perfect time to shake off what we do not want to lug around from our past. Limiting beliefs, bad habits, fears, friendships or family-ties that pinch and we may loosen.
Anything you do not want anymore, make it conscious and wave goodbye. Let the moon take it with her and start your days with a fresh mind.

'Waving At The Big Moon'

When I started to paint this dog-lady, I immediately felt sad. Don't know why, just came over me. And then when I tried to paint her eyes, the paint would not stick, litterally! It might sound weird, but I asked her in my head, what do you want to say? "I dare not let me see," I got back in response. "People get me wrong, they think I'm bad and agressive but I am not. Ok I said, let me paint you as you really are. Then her eyes emerged and suddenly I felt some relief and I even saw a little smile appearing in her face.

This left me with the feeling that how angry or clumsy we can express ourselves sometimes, deep inside is usually a delicate little soul that wants to be seen. Ultimately, it is our actions and not our intentions that count, but let's try to give each other the benefit of the doubt.

Yesterday I asked you what makes you still, what can quiet your mind, what makes you feel more at peace. Well I believe it is exactly what we need giving this new turmoil worldwide. 

I forgot about one thing that helps release unnecessary thoughts.

The sea.

And even if you look at the sea you realize it’s not always at ease and friendly. It can turn into a tsunami, it can flood half a country. Before it returns to foam on the sand.

It is not that we should close our eyes or don’t do anything. But panic or anger does not give the best ideas either.

I believe the best way to start change is always to start in your own small close world. That’s the place where you have the most influence. 

Look at yourself, look at your neighbor. If there is something to improve in how you see things or act on things. Do it. Help each-other on a small scale. Of course the ‘big things’ need to be taken care of too, but since everything is energy, at least try to stop feeding the world more venom and anxiety.

Feed it with positivity and love. 

That’s why I paint these miniatures in the first place.
