Must admit I've never actually seen a grey crow in Amsterdam but in Berlin I saw at least a dozen. I find them quite special and since I know they are also mentioned hooded crow it gives me an extra reason to make a painting on them. This one is called ...
Do you know those quite obligatory municipal bedding plants? Usually you will not give them a second glance. Yet if you do look a little closer you might even find beauty there. In the public little park around the corner from my painting studio in Uithoorn I found yellow flowers in the summer. In autumn it was filled with pretty cool pink berries. Now in winter it's filled with drab brown leaves and dented bluish white berries which has led to this miniature today. Are you also wondering what next spring will bring?
You have to look for it now, Berlin Ozzie style. Even Art Center Tacheles closed last year. Luckily we found a couple who used to have their atelier there and now started a restaurant with art just around the corner. 'Marral' it is called, fresh food made with love. And yeahh i saw a Trabant! To me all those oldfashioned cars have so much more character then the modern ones. This one is parked at Ostel. 'Das DDR Design Hostel' with all rooms in retro style. Do you have a favorite place in Berlin?
What I like about a snowy landscape is the emptiness of the image, the omission, it gets very graphic. Only some parts still ask for attention and the rest is immersed in tranquility.
Visiting the raw-art-fair in Rotterdam i saw a lot of hares: paintings, drawings, little sculptures but the most beautiful hare i saw was by the hand of Catrin Howell. It looks like two hares on the wall running to be faster than their shadow.
'Two Hares'
acrylic on canvas 5x5cm (2x2"inch)
She had a lot of delicate mythical creatures hanging on the wall at the stand of Galerie Terra Delft, so do take a look for yourself if you like.
This is Bo, Jeannie's dog in his old days. Suits him well this distinguished gray snout. Unfortunately he is no longer in our world but by painting him i hope he seems somewhat closer.
Two lonesome cowboys waiting, in the glow of the Albert Heijn blue lights. Fixed on one thing and one thing only, the sliding doors. They are confident and without any doubt that, as always, their alfa-hero will come through...He will won't he?

Yes!, the first daily-happy-mini-mail-project by lies goemans is completed. The second too:-)For two years in a row i've been painting a miniature 5x5 cm (2"x 2"inch) daily on this spot. It has been a tribute to lisette goemans and all other people battling a difficult struggle. The first year was not for sale and is now one big artwork of 365 miniature wonderments in paint.
and now?
i started a third new serie of 365 happy-mini-mail, again 5x5 cm (2x2" inch) and you can againbuy the paintings a day, first come first served!
